~ m-pyre beach burn - del monte beach - monterey - july 26
m-pyre, the monterey regional burning man group is putting together a big community-centric beach burn for July 26.

This is going to be on del monte beach, next to wharf 2, the Window on the Bay - this is a great time to bring art, community, free expression and LEAVE NO TRACE together to show monterey what its all about

We are going to be on the beach from 10 a.m. -10 p.m. - a full day of community, dance, art, performances, fire dancing, drummers, musicians, djs, random acts of radical expression, costumes and more!

We are requesting a $10 donation per person to help cover permit costs, insurance costs, etc - all $10 donations get some really groovy schwag.

I know many of you are unable to make it, but for those of you that can, this is a great time to come together as a community and enjoy our surroundings and each other and have a lot of fun in the process - everyone is able to participate whether that is just showing up and bringing some food to share or installing your art project on the beach for everyone to enjoy

Please contact me (Jenny Kay) if you are interested in participating at any level just send me an email letting me know what you would like to be a part of - fire safety, set up, recycling, tear down, greeting, etc.

~ WhatWhereWhen Submissions
The Playa Calendar is live on burningman.com! You can check it out here.

This is where you go to submit events to be included in the
WhatWhereWhen guide that you receive upon arriving in Black Rock City.

There are some new changes to the Playa Calendar this year. If you wish
to have your event listed in the PRINTED WWW guide you will be limited
to 140 characters.

There deadline for submissions has not been determined yet and it will
likely be driven by the number of entries that can be included in the
printed guide. Plan ahead, if you know you are hosting an event, get it
on the calendar now so your event will be included in the printed guide.

~ LARRY HARVEY CINNAMON BUN DECLARED "NOT A HOAX"
Larry Harvey danishThe eBay seller claims this cinnamon bun revealed itself to him at the Stonestown Mall in 2005 and that it's been kept in a box ever since. AND IT HAS NOT GONE STALE. With 23 bids, the price is holding at $40. Nine days left. Plenty of time to get in a last-second snipe bid, mount it in a box and charge people a "gift" on the playa to behold it.

: include yourself. include others.
Burning Beach organizers were inspired by Burning Man to create a community in the Santa Cruz area that promotes unusual artistic expression - anything from fire spinning classes and EL wire workshops to theme camp planning and brainstorming sessions around a pot of soup. Our motto, "Include yourself. Include others." is meant to encourage people to not only participate, but do so in a way that inspires others to find creativity within themselves.
